Present were: Supervisors Afdahl, Luckwaldt and Ql SUil. Absent: Supervisor Heffron. Also present Harold C. Barber, Zoning Administrator. Sam Miller requested to build on a non-conforming lot 195' wide at the east end and 172. 51 wide at west end and 5021 deep. Mr. Miller has an option to purchase this lot to build on if the approval is granted. However, the lot is owned by Winfred Grunke. The Zoning Administrator read letters from adjoining landowners objecting to the variance. Discussion on the variance by the Board of Adjustments followed. Several questions were asked of Miller and Grunke by the Board. Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Miller that the Board would inspect the property and have the Zoning Administrator advise him of their decision. Mr. Robert Anderson, Baldwin, requested to build closer to US Highway 12. Mr. Anderson wants to build a 401 x 601 shop on the lot. Setback will be 701 from the centerline of Highway 12. The reason for the request is that the new building will not be closer to highway than the dock on the present building which will be removed. Questions by members of the Committee. Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Anderson that the Committee will inspect the property and the Zoning Administrator will notify him of their decision. Upon inspection of the Miller/Grunke property, a motion by Supv. Luckwaldt to deny the variance for the following reasons: This is not a hardship case and it is also not a good building site due to topography. Supv. Olson seconded the motion for denial. Motion carried. Motion by Olson, seconded by Luckwaldt to approve the variance on the setback of Mr. Robert Anderson. Motion carried. Motion by Luckwaldt to adjourn. Seconded by Olson. Motion carried. Hearing adjourned at 2:30 p. m. The next meeting of the Board of Adjustment will be on January 24, 1974, at 11 a. m. at the Baldwin Ag Center for the ETN program. R. J. Present were: Supervs. Afdahl, Heffron and Olson (substitute for Superv. Luckwaldt) . Mr Luckwaldt had to attend another meeting in Madison. Zoning Administrator read notice of hearing to those present. Mr. Sam Miller presented his case to the Board stating the hardships created due to the updating of the Zoning Regulations as to lot size. The twp parcels that he presented were: (1) 6.31 acres that he wished to make into 2 lots, one portion of the land has a house constructed on it at the present time. The sub-division of this property would not meet the length & width requirements of our present regulations. The lot being approximately 700 feet deep and 170 feet wide. Lot 2 is approximately 205 feet wide by 700 feet deep. The back portion of these lots are unbuildable due to spring run off. The area is ideal for home sites. The soils are sand and gravel and will cause no pollution problems. Wells in the area are about 250 feet deep. Mr John Dudinyak asked as to whether the property would be further sub-divided and another road put in. Mr Miller said no. Mrs David Larson asked questions on Zoning but had no objection to the variance. Chairman Afdahl informed the people that after inspection of the property a decision would be made and the Zoning Admin. would inform Mr Miller of the results. District Attorney Williams was present for the decision on the McCann property. A motion by Superv. Olson, 2nd by Superv.
