Dear Tom:
have just reviewed the soil tests you submitted for Troy Village 2nd Addition, Town of Troy. I want to bring
a few things to your attention after reviewing the soil reports. I noted a few errors on the reports. It can be
very easy to overlook errors when proofing your own reports, especially on the computer screen.
Here are a couple of items that need changing:
1. Loading rates were transposed on the second page of all of the soil reports submitted.
(i.e. .8 bed - .7 trench)
2. Multiple abbreviations were used when describing structure and some abbreviations were
incorrectly noted. (i.e. 2mcsbk, 2mskb)
3. Boring 6 on lot was not described.
4. The established benchmark on the plot plan for* 3 does not correlate with the elevations listed
on the soil report.
5. Boring 1 on lot 73 ' described exactly the same as boring 1 on lot 72.

6. Double check the loading rate for loamy sand (Is) in Table O of chap er 83, (.7-.8)
7. Check the loading rate used for boring 2, horizon 4 for lot 83.
(sil 2mgr(.5-.6))
8. Check the recommended loading rate for I (.7-.8)
9. The depth of horizon 4, boring 1 for lot was not given.
Here are few additional items that note worthy:
• Original signatures are required on all soil tests submitted for review.
• Establish two reference points on every lot. In the past, we have showed up for the inspections
and the plumber informs us that the reference point has been destroyed or could not be located.
Unfortunately, these circumstances do occur. At this point, in order to finished the inspection, we
required that the original soil tester re-establishes the reference point. This is why we require to have
two benchmarks identified on all lots.
