As long as the grading limits for your project will not exceed 2,000 square feet, you will not need a land use permit for filling and grading in the Shoreland District. Please be advised that you will still need to follow best management practices for erosion control as recommended by Steve Olson, and will need to obtain a building permit from the town before you start the project. Since we have determined that you do not need a permit, we will send you a partial refund in the amount of $200, ($350 application fee minus mailing expenses and staff time on site visit and application review). You should receive a refund check in the mail within --two weeks. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I checked my figures for the area to be disturbed during the project and came up with 1,800 square feet . I was not aware of the sanitary system needing to be upgraded, so I asked around and this is what I found out . I am not adding a bath or more bedrooms , So I should not have to upgrade the system. I'm hoping this information is correct and is helpful to you. Please let me know if it is not .
