The St . Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted a public
hearing on October 27 , 1981 , to consider the request of Richard A.
Thompson for a Special Exception Use to Article 3 . 12 GG, Lift , ST.
CROIX COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE .
The St . Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted an on-site
inspection of the site in question.
After inspection, the St . Croix County Board of Adjustment en-
tered an Executive Session to discuss the request .
After returning to open session the following decision was rend-
ered :
Motion by Supervisor Meinke to approve the request to construct
a lift on the condition that the adequate shrubbery for screening is
planted to make the lift inconspicuous from the river . Seconded
by Supervisor Handlos . Motion carried . Vote to approve :
Handlos , yes;
Meinke, yes ;
Pierson, yes .

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING AND HEARINGS
October 27 , 1981
10 : 00 a .m. -2 : 30 p .m.

g to order by Chairman Pierson at 10 : 00 a .m. All members
present .
Minutes of the September meeting approved as read and corrected .
Zoning Administrator read letter from Department of Transportation
on the Earl Jacot driveway.
Discussion by members of the Board . Motion by Supervisor Meinke
that the two parties get together and have a common driveway . The Board
will go along with the first recommendation of the Department of Trans-
portation for a joint driveway. If both parties cannot come up with a
solution they should attend the Board of Adjustments hearing on November 24 ,
1981 . Seconded by Supervisor Handlos . Motion carried .
Zoning Administrator read notice of hearings as published in the county
and local newspapers .
1 . Article 3 . 12 GG (Lift)
Appellant : Richard Thompson
Location: Government Lot 4 , Section 35 , T30N-R20W. Town of St .
Joseph .
2 . Article 8. 4 B 2 b Setback from town road
Appellant : Douglas Goodrich
Location : SE4 of SE-14, Section 29 , T31N-R16W, Town of Cylon.
Mr . Douglas Goodrich presented his request to construct a liquid
manure pit that would be 52 feet from the centerline of a town road . The
pit would be 90 feet in diameter and 12 feet deep .
Questions by members of the Board .
Chairman Pierson informed those present that the Zoning Administrator
will notify them of the decision, after inspection of the property in question.
Mr . Richard Thompson presented his request to construct a lift on his
property within the St . Croix Riverway District . Mr . Thompson explained
that there is a common lift for the subdivision but it is in need of repair ,
constantly.
Mr . Al Santala, D . N.R. commented on the lift requirements and would
request that the lift be screened from view of the river .
Questions by Board members .
Hearing closed at 10 : 30 a .m. , in order for the Board to inspect the
properties in question.
After inspection of the properties the Board went into executive
session and returned to open session to render decisions .
Richard Thompson : Motion by Supervisor Meinke to approve the request
to construct lift on the condition that the adequate screening shrubbery
is planted to make the lift inconspicuous from the river . Seconded by
Supervisor Handlos . Motion carried . Vote to approve : Handlos , yes ;
Meinke, yes ; Pierson, yes .
Douglas Goodrich: Motion by Supervisor Handlos to approve the request
of Mr . Goodrich to construct a liquid manure holding pit 52 feet from the
centerline of a town road . Plans are to be submitted to Zoning Administrator
prior to commencing construction. Seconded by Supervisor Meinke . Motion
carried . Vote to approve : Handlos , yes ; Meinke, yes ; Pierson, yes .
Being no further business before the Board , a motion by Supervisor
Handlos to adjourn. Seconded by Supervisor Meinke, Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 2 : 30 p.m.
