BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARINGS
Hearing called to order by Chairman Afdahl at 10:00 a.m.. All members present.
Mr. Ronald Conrad requested permission to have a wrecking yard in the Township
of Baldwin. He explained the need for a wrecking yard in St. Croix County in
order to dispose of junk cars and farm machinery. There would be no burning
and all cars are being hauled to a scrap yard in St. Paul. All County and
State requirements will be met.
Questions from Town Board members and Board members. Mr. Glen Bartelt objected
t to the wrecking yard as he lives on a hill two tenths of a mile south -and feels
that it would destroy the value of his property.
Chairman AfdAU informed Mr. Conrad that after inspections of the property the
Zoning Administrator will inform him of their decision.
Mr. Conrad thanked the Committee for hearing his request.
Mr. Donovan Schmitt requested a variance to open a gravel pit on his farm in
` . , the Township of St. Joseph. Mr. Schmitt would like to remove some hills in
orderttoRruake the land useable for farming. He said the land is not farmable
at the present time. Muchcif the gravel take3a out will be used for rebuilding
County Ttunk "E" and possibly some for town roads.
Mr. Ed Frawley had questions about land in the area and how the gravel pit
will be landscaped after the pit is closed. Other questims from the Board;
and Mr. Frawley.
Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Schmitt that the Zotfing Administrator will notify
him of their decision after inspection of the property.
Mr. Schmitt thanked the board.
Mr. John Doar requested to sell a lot that was non conforming due to length .
'- and width requirements. Mr., Tom Doar explained that due to the contour of the
land and floodplain area it would be impossible to meet .the '2:1 ration set up
in the County Zoning regulations
Questions by the Board members.
Chairman Afdahl informed Mr. Doar that after inspection of the property the
Zoning Administrator will inform him of their decision.
Mr. Doar thanked the Board.
Hearing Adjourned for inspection of the properties in question.
