Location: NEk NEk, ) December 27, 1983 Section 3, T31N-R18W, Town of Star ) Prairie. ) The St. Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on December 27, 1983 to consider the request of James Meister for a special exception use, Article 8.4 3 (b), Setback from the Highway, ST. CROIX COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE. The St. Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted an on site inspection of the site in question. After inspection, the St. Crci:,- C6,;nL P-, rd of Adjustm,- } cr_*ered an Executive Session to discuss the request. After returning to open session, the following decision was rendered. .J" Motion by Supervisor Stephens to deny the request of James Meister with a stipulation that the building be removed by June 1, 1984. The reason for denial is becuase of the side yard setback to neighboring house is too close (under 10 feet to property line) , and highway setback is too close, causing sight and snow removal problems. Any damage to structure caused by snow removal will be owner's responsibility. Seconded by Supervisor George. Motion carried. Vote to deny: Meinke, yes; George, yes; Stephens, yes. Johnson, Clerk James Meister BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING AND HEARING December 27, 1983 9:00 - 3:30 p.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman Meinke at 9:00 a.m. in the County Board Room of the Courthouse, Hudson, Wisconsin. All members present. Minutes of the November meeting and hearing approved as written. Chairman Meinke called the hearing to order. Zoning Administrator Harold Barber read the notices of hearings as published in the county and local newspapers. 1. ARTICLE: 3.4 B (2) & 3.7 B, Filling & Grading & Setback from the water APPELLANT: Gregory B. Howard LOCATION: NEB SE14, Section 26 T30N-R19W, Town of St. Joseph 3. Jack - LOCATION: _., NWk NW14, Section 31, T28N-R18W, Town of Kinnickinnic NEk NEB, Section 36, T28N-R19W, Town of° Troy Mr. James Meister presented his request to leave a tent like structure on his property. He is using the structure to house an ultra-light aircraft. Questions by members of the Board. Mr. Greg Howard presented his request to rip-rap the beach on property he wishes to purchase. Mr. Howard would also like to construct a deck that would be approx- imately ten (10) feet from the present highwater mark. Mr. Steve Wilcox showed slides of the property in question and explained how the rip-rapping will be done. Mr. Steve Wilcox presented the request of Mrs. Helen Van Slyke, who wishes to rip- rap the shoreline to prevent more soil -erosion. He has a verbal approval from DNR. Mr. George. Jack presented his request to rip-rap his property along the Kinnickinnic River in the Townships of Kinnickinnic and Troy. Motion by Supervisor Stephens to recess the hearing to inspect the properties in question. Seconded by Supervisor George. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor George to postpone the decision on the Howard and Van Slyke appeals until the January session. Seconded by Supervisor Stephens. Motion by Supervisor Stephens to amend the motion to give the Van Slyke's approval upon a letter from DNR. Seconded by Supervisor George. Amendment and motion approved. After inspection of the properties in question, the Board returned to session. Motion by supervisor Stephens to deny the request of James Meister with a stipulation that the building be removed by June 1, 1984. Motion by Supervisor George to hold over the Howard and Van Sly�e appeals until the January session to allow for DNR input. DNR to be present at Ehe next hearing. Seconded by Supervisor Stephens. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor George to approve the request of George Jack upon receipt of DNR approval. Seconded by Supervisor Stephens. Motion carried. Vote to approve: Meinke, ye$j4 George, yes; Stephens, yes. Motion by Supervisor Stephens to adjourn. Seconded by ?Supervisor George. ; Motion carried.
