Jennifer Shillcox From: Jennifer Shillcox Sent: Tuesday, May 02, 2006 10:14 AM To: Inbakke @mathy.com' Cc: Jessie Nye Subject: Cemstone Ready-Mix Sign LUP, File#L00039, Parcel#16.30.18.245B Hi Neil, I have reviewed your land use permit application to erect a two-panel, bi-fold sign (-128 square feet) at the new entrance to the Cemstone Ready-Mix/Monarch Paving site in the Town of Richmond. As I explained over the phone, the property on which the sign is to be located is zoned Ag Residential and thus requires a special exception permit. Because Cemstone currently has a special exception permit for the mining and paving operation on the site that was approved on August 24, 2003, you can simply apply for an amendment to that permit to add the proposed sign. If you fill out the attached application and return it to me by Wednesday, May 3rd, I can schedule you to be on the June 22nd hearing agenda with the Board of Adjustment. The cost for an amendment to a special exception permit is $200, so we will refund you $100 of the fee you paid for the land use permit. We will use the materials you submitted with the land use permit for the special exception. You will also need to contact the Town of Richmond to ensure that they put your application on their Town meeting agenda so that they can forward a recommendation to the County in time for your hearing date. Just to reiterate, if the sign were to be placed on the property that is zoned Industrial, you would not need special exception approval, just a land use permit. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
