The St. Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted a public
hearing on February 26 , 1980 , to consider the request of KENNETH
BROWN for a variance to Article 8.4B, Highway Setbacks , ST. CROIX
COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE.

The St. Croix County Board of Adjustment conducted an on-site
inspection of the site in question.
After inspection, the St. Croix County Board of Adjustment
entered an Executive Session to discuss the request.
After returning to open session the following decision was
rendered:
Motion by Supervisor Afdahl to approve the request of Kenneth
Brown to construct a grain storage bin approximately 110 feet from
the centerline of the town road. Seconded by Supervisor George , motion
carried.
Vote to approve request :
Afdahl , yes

Motion by Supv. George to approve the request of Robert Enloe
with the stipulation that the property be treated as a residential lot
without farm animals permitted. Seconded by Supv. Afdahl , motion carried.
Vote to approve: Afdahl-yes , George-yes , Pierson- yes.
Motion by Supv. Afdahl to approve the request of Kenneth Brown
to construct a grain storage bin approximately 110 feet from the centerline
of the town road. Seconded by Supv. George, motion carried. Vote to approve:

Motion by Supv. George to deny the request of Robert Muller to construct
a private airstrip on his property. The adjacent landowners objected as
it would lower the adjoining property values . Seconded by Supv.v. Afdahl ,
motion carried. Vote to deny: Afdahl-Yes , Geor a-
Yes , Pierson-yes .
Motion by Supv. Afdahl that the Board of Adjustment request the
District Attorney to write for an Attorney Generals Opinion on SS 114,
Airstrips. Seconded by Supv. George, motion carried.
Hearing and meeting closed at 3:45 p.m. Next scheduled meeting
is March 25 , 1980, at 10 :00 a.m.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING
Meeting of February 26 , 1980 , called to order by Chairman Pierson
at 10: 00 a.m. All members present. Minutes of the December 18, 1979 ,
meeting accepted as read.
Hearing called to order at 10 : 15 a.m. by Chairman Pierson.
Zoning Administrator read Notice of Hearings as published in the county
and local newspaper.
' Mr. Kenneth Brown, Section 33 , Town of Richmond, requested to
construct a grain storage bin approximately 110 feet from a town road.
The storage bin will be 1000 bushels .
Questions by Board members .
Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Brown that the Zoning Administrator
will inform him of their decision after inspection of the property.
Mr. Robert Enloe requested to construct an underground house that
would not meet the side yard, rear yard and setback from the centerline of
Tower Road.
Zoning Administrator informed Board of adjoining land owner feels
that approving this would open the door for other non-conforming lots in
the County.
Questions by members of the Committee.
Mr. Enloe would stipulate that the lot would be treated as a
residential lot.
Chairman Pierson informed Mr . Enloe that the Zoning Administrator
would inform him of their decision after inspection of the property.
Mr. Robert Muller requested to construct a personal airstrip on
his property.
Zoning Administrator read letters from adjoining landowners
and neighbors objecting to the airstrip.
Mr. Muller presented his request to the Board stating that it would
be a personal use airstrip. He will rent an airplane as he does not own a
plane.
Mr. Don Harer representing Mr . Lawrence Harer feels that there is
no need for the airstrip and that there is a barn, that cattle would become
scared and could cause harm to the cattle as well as people working with
the cattle.
Mr. Carl Melby, an adjoining landowner, has concern over the
liability insurance for the pilot or owner of the plane. Mr. Melby hopes
that the Board would postpone a decision for a month.
Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Muller that the Zoning Administrator
will inform him of their decision after inspection of the property.
Hearing closed at 11: 15 a.m. for inspection of the property and
decisions .
Board went into an Executive Session and returned to open session
for decisions .
PUBLIC HEARING
The St. Croix County Board of Adjustment has scheduled a
Public Hearing for February 26 , 1980 , at 10: 00 a.m. in the
County Board Room, Courthouse , Hudson, WI , to consider the
following appeals to the ST. CROIX COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE :
