Page 2b of 3 Sizing Calculations for Julie and John Andrzejczak's Wine Tasting Facility at their Winery I I Julie and John have county approval to provide tours of their winery that will include wine tasting at the end of the tour. The approval limits the amount of wine to be tasted to one ounce portions. The tasting will coordinate around the wine harvesting season and into the fall. They plan on opening their doors to the public three months out of the year to include September, October and November. The facility will be open from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. They plan on scheduling small groups every %a hour to 45 minutes with an estimated number of patrons at 85 per day. Sizing Calulations: 2 Employees x 13 gallons =26 gallons 1 Floor drain near the utility area by the water heater x 25 gallons=25 gallons 85 patrons x 3 gallons(see note)=255 gallons Total estimated flow of 306 gallons x 1.5 design factor=459 gallon design flow. Note: the 3 gallons per day flow rate for the customers was calculated using the dining hall from Table 4 of the Public Waster Flows Chart. Subtracting 2 gallons from the 5 gallons used for a dining hall with toilet waste and no dishwasher. Note: A DNR approved holding tank will be installed for non-domestic wastewater created through the wine making process. }} W ¢ to M @& to § ■ iiii ® J§ § ■ " v 7 $ G a o E _ ■ © a 0210 k § f q ■ g e A H o f © rn \ E # k o /# § n O \( 7 g (42 A 00 _ k ) g Nj / / @ 00 . 2 o E / ) ( ( \ IR ( K k ~ J \ ® k K f g ( ■ fD n 2 t \ P. k o 2 w m State of Wisconsin DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES Scott Walker, Governor 101 S.Webster Street Cathy Stepp,Secretary Box 7921 Telephone 608-266-2621 FAX 608-267-3579 WISCONSIN Madison WI 53707-7921 DEPT.OF NATURAL RESOURCES TTY Access via relay-711 C NED August 7,2014 Project No. S-2014-0416 Mr. Keith Knudtson ST,CROIX COUNTY Knudtson Plumbing yOMMUN.'Ty OFVELOPMENT 927 150th Street Roberts,WI 54023 Sub: Holding Tank Installation To Serve Wine Production Operation For Scott Andrzejczak-- Roberts,WI Dear Mr. Knudtson: I have received and reviewed your recent transmittal of completed WDNR form 3400-185 in reference to your proposal for installation of a new 2,000 gallon wastewater holding tank to serve the wine production operation for Mr. Scott Andrzejczak located at 1105 Coulee Trail, Roberts,WI.
