HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2014 (26) Resolution No. 26 (2014) RESOLUTION APPROVING ALTERATION OF SUPERVISORY DISTRICT BOUNDARIES RESULTING FROM AN ANNEXATION TO THE VILLAGE OF BALDWIN 1 WHEREAS, in 2011 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a 10-year supervisory 2 district plan creating county supervisory districts, municipal aldermanic districts and election wards 3 following the 2010 Census; and 4 5 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.10(3)(c) allows a county board, in its discretion, to alter the 6 boundaries of supervisory districts based on annexations which occur after the adoption of the 10-year 7 supervisory district plan, as long as the number of supervisory districts is not changed; and 8 9 WHEREAS, the Village of Baldwin completed annexations on November 2013 and April 2014 of 10 parcels described as follows: 11 12 1. Village of Baldwin Ordinance 42013-01 consisting of approximately 3.3 acres annexed by the Village 13 of Baldwin is part of County Supervisor District 19 consisting of Ward 1 of the Town of Eau Galle. It 14 is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into the Village of Baldwin, Ward 6, County Supervisor 15 District 18. The population of the annexed parcel is zero (0) residents. The property consists of the 16 Hardee's restaurant. 17 18 2. Village of Baldwin Ordinance 42014-01 consisting of approximately 101.7 acres annexed by the 19 Village of Baldwin is part of County Supervisor District 15 consisting of Ward 1 in the Town of Rush 20 River. It is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into the Village of Baldwin, Ward 6, County 21 Supervisor District 18. The population of the annexed parcel is three (3) residents. The Baldwin 22 Area Medical Center plans to build a new facility on this property. 23 24 3. Village of Baldwin Ordinance 42014-02 consisting of approximately .07 acres annexed by the Village 25 of Baldwin is part of County Supervisor District 15 consisting of Ward 1 in the Town of Rush River. 26 It is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into the Village of Baldwin, Ward 6, County Supervisor 27 District 18. The population of the annexed parcel is zero (0) residents. The property consists of a 28 sliver of land adjacent to land in the Village of Baldwin known as the A&W Restaurant. 29 30 WHEREAS, maps of the annexed parcels, along with copies of the annexation ordinances, have 31 been filed with the St. Croix County Clerk and are attached; and 32 33 WHEREAS, this resolution does not change the number of supervisory districts. 34 35 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the 36 supervisory district boundaries are hereby altered as described above; 37 38 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Clerk is hereby directed to forward all 39 notices required under Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 59, to the Secretary of State for the purpose of 40 advising that office of said supervisory district boundary changes.
