CROIX COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS Meeting of October 30, 1978, called to order by Chairman Pierson at 10 :15 a.m. Supervisor Afdahl absent. Minutes of the September 25 1 8 97 hearing accepted as written. P , g ritten. P Hearing called to order at 10 :30 a.m. Zoning Administrator read Notice of Hearing as published in the county newspaper. 014 business : 1. Mrs . Lenore LaVenture and George Holcomb . Town of St. Joseph. Request for a variance of Chapter 8.4.2 of the St. Croix County Zoning Ordinance. Wishing to construct a building that would not be conforming to setbacks . Mr. Howard LaVenture presented the request to construct a building that would be 75 feet from a town road. Questions by Board members . Chairman Pierson informed Mr. LaVenture that the Zoning Administrator would inform him of their decision after they inspect the property. 2. Mrs. Lenore LaVenture and Mr. George Holcomb . Town. of St. -Joseph. Request for a special exception use of Chapter 3. 10 .4 of the St Croix Riverway District. Mr. Howard LaVenture presented the request to construct a road within -the St. Croix Riverway District. He also requested to leave some trees in the right of way and in the cul de sac. Mr. Steve Johnson, Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Association has no objections to the request. Mr. Al Santala of the Department of Natural Resources has no objections . 3. Mr. James Zeller. Town of St. Joseph. Request a variance to Section 3.6.2 of the Shoreland Ordinance. . Zeller presented his request to re- construct a building on the site of the old Burkhardt Mill . The building would be located on the foundation of the old structure. Building would be approximately 30 feet from the bluffline of the Willow River . Questions by Board members . Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Zeller that the Zoning Administrator would notify him of their decision after inspection of the property. 4. St. Croix County Snowmobile Association. Requested a variance to Section 4.3 .2(e) , bridge fill. Mr. Joe Grant presented the request to add approximately 40 cubic yards of fill for snowmobile bridge ramps located across the Ten Mile Creek at Boardman. The bridge rams are too steep to use. Questions by Board members and the Department of Natural Resources . Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Grant that the Zoning Administrator would notify him of their decision after inspection of the property. 5. Mr. George Masterson. Town of Somerset. Request a variance of Section 3.6.2 Setbacks from Shoreland. Mr. Masterson presented his request for a . building addition 8' x 14' that would add onto a non-conforming structure which would be 24 feet from the present shoreline of Bass Lake. The building addition would be for a gas toilet. I Questions by Board members . Chairman Pierson informed Mr. Masterson that the Zoning Administrator would inform him of their decision after inspection of the property. 6. Mr. Kenneth Spear. Town of Troy. Request a special exception use of Chapter 3 .10 of the St. Croix Riverway District. Mrs . Julie Spear and Mr. Michael Mantenfel presented the request for a special exception to build a house 40 feet from the bluffline of the St. Croix River. Mr. Mantenfel presented plans of the house to be constructed. Building would be 26k feet from grade.
