RESOLUTION APPROVING ALTERATION OF SUPERVISORY
DISTRICT BOUNDARIES RESULTING FROM AN
ANNEXATION TO THE VILLAGE OF SOMERSET
1 WHEREAS, in 2011 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a 10-year supervisory
2 district plan creating county supervisory districts, municipal aldermanic districts and election wards
3 following the 2010 Census; and
4
5 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.10(3)(c) allows a county board, in its discretion, to alter the
6 boundaries of supervisory districts based on annexations which occur after the adoption of the 10-year
7 supervisory district plan, as long as the number of supervisory districts is not changed; and
8
9 WHEREAS, the Village of Somerset completed an annexations on August 25, 2014 of a parcel of
10 approximately 44.3 acres; and
11
12 WHEREAS, a map of the annexed parcel, along with a copy of the annexation ordinance has
13 been filed with the St. Croix County Clerk and are attached; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the parcel annexed by the Village of Somerset is part of County Supervisor District
16 2, consisting of Ward 3 of the Town of Somerset; and
17
18 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into County Supervisor District 1 in
19 Ward 2 in the Village of Somerset; and
20
21 WHEREAS, the population of the annexed parcel is one resident which maintains the original
22 numbers of the affected districts; and
23
24 WHEREAS, this resolution does not change the number of supervisory districts.

26 THEREFORE be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the supervisory
27 district boundaries are hereby altered by moving the annexed parcel of land from County Supervisor
28 District 2 to County Supervisor District 1 consisting of Ward 2 in the Village of Somerset as shown on
29 the attached;

31 FURTHER be it resolved that the St. Croix County Clerk is hereby directed to forward all notices
32 required under Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 59, to the Secretary of State for the purpose of advising that
33 office of said supervisory district boundary changes.

I, Felicia Germain, Village Clerk of the Village of Somerset, do certify that the following
described territory was detached from the Town of Somerset, St. Croix County, Wisconsin and
was annexed to the Village of Somerset, pursuant to Section 66.0217 of the Wisconsin
Statutes, by an ordinance adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Somerset at a Special
meeting held on the 25th day of August, 2014.
Parcel A: Tax ID # 032-1098-10-000, 37 acres and #032-1098-10-100 3 acres
Certified Survey Map Vol 6 Pg. 1748. Part of the NW 1/ and part of the SW '/4 of the NW
% of Section 35 in T31 N R1 9W St Croix County Wisconsin more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Section 35: thence S88°41'04"E
along the north line of the NW1/4 of Section 35, 1329.71 feet to the east line of the NW
1/4 of the NW thence SO0°09'43"W along last said east line and the east line of said
SW % of the NW % a distance of 1833 feet, more or less, to the southerly right of way
1502 feet, more or less to the west line of the NW % of Section 35; thence N00°03'25"E
along last said west line 1369 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. Containing
approximately 44.3 acres.

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY
TO THE VILLAGE OF SOMERSET, WISCON THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF SOMERSEORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. TERRITORY ANNEXED. In accordance with Section 66.0217 of
the Wisconsin Statutes and the petition for direct annexation filed wit! i the Village Clok
on the 30th day of July, 2014, signed by all of the owners and electors, the following
described territory in the Town of Somerset,' St. Croix County, Wisconsin, is annexed to
the Village of Somerset, Wisconsin:
Parcel Description: Certified Survey Map Vol 6 Pg. 1748.
Part of the NW'/4 and part of the SW % of the NW'/ of Section 35 in T31 N
R1 9W St Croix County Wisconsin more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Section 35: thence S88°41'04"E along
the north line of the NW1/4 of Section 35, 1329.71 feet to the east line of the NW
% of the NW %4; thence SO0°09'43"W along last said east line and the east line of
said SW Y4 of the NW '/4 a distance of 1833 feet, more or less, to the southerly

SECTION 2. EFFECT OF ANNEXATION. From and after the date of this
ordinance the territory described in Section I shall be a part of the village of Somerset
for any and all purposes provided by law and all persons coming or residing within such
territory shall be subject to all ordinances, rules and regulations governing the Village of
Somerset.
SECTION 3. ZONING CLASSIFICATION. The territory annexed hereby to the
Village of Somerset is zoned Agricultural and subject to all provisions of the zoning
ordinance of the village of Somerset.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this ordinance is invalid or
unconstitutional, or if the application of this ordinance to any person or circumstances is
invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the other
provisions or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
or unconstitutional provisions or application.
SECTION 5. POPULATION. The current population of the area is one (1).
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect upon passage
and publication as provided by law.
