HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2015 (12) Resolution No. 12 (2015) STRCCL , LINT'S' RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO TOWN OF HUDSON ZONING ORDINANCE 105-12.B.(51) 1 WHEREAS, on March 16, 2015 the Town of Hudson Plan Commission recommended 2 approval of a text amendment to the Town of Hudson Zoning Ordinance Chapter 105-12B.(51) 3 permitted use in the commercial district; and 4 5 WHEREAS, on March 31, 2015 the Hudson Town Board held a public hearing on the 6 proposed text amendment; and 7 8 WHEREAS, following the public hearing, the Hudson Town Board convened and 9 approved a text amendment to the Town of Hudson Zoning Ordinance Commercial District 10 permitted uses as follows: 11 12 §105-12B.(51): "Sales, service, and rental of compact construction equipment under 13 20,000 pounds, such as skid loaders, and lawn care accessory equipment," and 14 15 WHEREAS, Section 60.62(3), Wisconsin Statutes states that in counties having a county 16 zoning ordinance no town zoning ordinance amendment is effective unless approved by the 17 county board; and 18 19 WHEREAS, St Croix County has a zoning ordinance; and 20 21 WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has reviewed the proposed 22 amendment and recommends approval. 23 24 THEREFORE,be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the 25 amendment to the Town of Hudson Zoning Ordinance described above is hereby approved. Qualls moved to approve the February 2015 minutes as presented,Wendle seconded. Motion carried. The Commission discussed amending the commercial ordinance to add Sales, Service, and Rental of Skid Loaders and Lawn Care Accessory Equipment as 451 under approved uses. The specificity of"skid loaders"was questioned. John and Bill Quirk from Tristate Bobcat noted that they sell and rent compact construction equipment that weighs less than 20,000 lbs. Compact construction equipment is an industry-standard class of equipment. The Board could add a definition of compact construction equipment if they wish. Bast moved to amend the Commercial ordinance to add#51 reading: sales, service, and rental of compact construction equipment under 20,000 lbs and lawn care accessory equipment,Wendle seconded. Motion carried. The ordinance for temporary storage containers was discussed. Wendle put together ordinance language and will send it out after making the following changes: -20' setback from right of way. -If used during construction it can stay for the period of construction. -In no event shall a temporary storage container remain on a property for more than 6 months without Town Board permission. -$75 application fee -3rd paragraph should read"Town"building inspector,not Township Wendle moved to recommend approval to the Town Board the temporary storage container ordinance with the noted changes, Bast seconded. March 31,2015 Chairman Johnson called the April Town Board meeting to order on March 31, 2015 at 6:30 pm at the Hudson Town Hall. The meeting was moved due to the Spring election on April 7, 2015. Present were Town Supervisors Dave Ostby, Tim Foster and Don Jordan. Motion by Supervisor Foster, 2°a by Supervisor Jordan to approve the agenda as presented but not necessarily in that order. Tim Foster noted that Tammy Wittmer met with Ronn Hechtor to discuss issues at Rodeo Center. 1 Roads: Discussion was held regarding placing signs to prohibit jake braking on Baer Drive. Discussion/action on agreement with Building Inspector to store building permits/plans Motion by Johnson ,2°a by Ostby to approve the contract amendment dated 3131115 with the following changes: Building inspector will store all building permits and plans for a fee of$50/month, reviewable with contract and the Town of Hudson will purchase shelving not to exceed$600. Motion carried. Motion by Foster,2°a by Jordan to approve placing signs stating "No Jake Braking" on Baer Drive. Motion carried. Discussion was held regarding the Wisconsin Utility Tax Association notice received.
