HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2016 (840) Ordinance No. 840 (2016) ST 109, �wT ORDINANCE RENAMING AND AMENDING CHAPTER 76- ' ' VEHICLE IMPOUNDMENT ORDINANCE 1 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors enacted Vehicle Impoundment 2 Ordinance No. 345(94) on March 15, 1994 (now Chapter 76 of the St. Croix County Code of 3 Ordinances); and 4 5 WHEREAS, 2015 Senate Bill 153 authorized the disposition of abandoned vehicles to 6 include donation of the vehicle to a nonprofit organization; and 7 8 WHEREAS, the Public Protection and Judiciary Committee has reviewed Chapter 76 and 9 recommends the inclusion of language in said ordinance to allow for the donation of an 10 abandoned vehicle. 11 12 THEREFORE, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: 13 14 Chapter 76 - Vehicle Impoundment Ordinance - of the St. Croix County Code of Ordinances is 15 hereby renamed and amended as Vehicle Impoundment and Abandonment Ordinance - as 16 attached hereto. Whenever the Sheriff determines that any motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer or mobile home (collectively hereinafter "vehicle") which had been impounded by the County for purposes of evidence or other law enforcement purpose can be reclaimed o i.°is., ah a f..i dofi.ed 1.!.g12.t to Wis, Stat. (J,) Upon sale of the vehicle, the County shall supply the purchaser with a completed form designed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation enabling the purchaser to obtain a regular certificate of title for the vehicle.
