ST RO .,, RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF $300,000 FOR
' �' THE THERAPY POOL AND INCREASE THE HEALTH
CENTER PROJECT BUDGET
1 WHEREAS, on May 5, 2015 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 17 (2015)
2 to increase the Health Center project by $670,000 to include geothermal raising the project
3 budget to $20,670,000; and
4
5 WHEREAS, the project budget of$20,670,000 does not include the construction cost of a
6 therapy pool addition and pool; and
7
8 WHEREAS, the therapy pool addition and pool was bid by Market Johnson as an add
9 alternate; and

11 WHEREAS, on October 12, 2015, the Fund to Benefit St. Croix Health Center
12 Committee, a fund within the New Richmond Area Community Foundation, submitted a funding
13 request to the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation designated for the therapy pool
14 addition and pool; and
15
16 WHEREAS, on November 23, 2015 Market Johnson presented an updated construction
17 budget of$376,260 for the therapy pool addition and pool to the Ad Hoc Health Center
18 Construction Committee; and
19
20 WHEREAS, at the November 23, 2015 the Ad Hoc Health Center Construction
21 Committee received a report from committee member Suzanne Van Mele that notification was
22 received that the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation will award $300,000 for the
23 designated purpose of the therapy pool addition and pool; and

25 WHEREAS, on December 23, 2015 the Fund to Benefit St. Croix Health Center, a fund
26 within the New Richmond Area Community Foundation, received the $300,000; and
27
28 WHEREAS, the $76,260 balance for the therapy pool addition and pool would be funded
29 through the owner contingency which is included in the project budget total of$20,670,000; and
30
31 WHEREAS, the owner contingency funds was reviewed at aproject management
32 meeting on December 15, 2015 and the balance totaled $269,888; and
33
34 WHEREAS,pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 59.52(19), the county board has the authority to
35 accept donations for any government purpose within the power of the county.

37 THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors accepts the
38 $300,000 donation awarded to the Fund to Benefit St. Croix Health Center, a fund within the
39 New Richmond Area Community Foundation, from the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen
40 Foundation for the designated purpose of building a therapy pool addition and pool.

42 FURTHER, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors approves the
43 Health Center project budget be increased to $20,970,000.
