CROIX COUNTY ' �' DAY REPORTING CENTER 1 WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has assessed St. Croix County's need for a day reporting 2 center; and 3 4 WHEREAS, a day reporting center would be one location that people could report to for 5 requirements that involve the Courts, Probation and Parole, Drug Court, and the Diversion 6 Program; and 7 8 WHEREAS, as of August 2015, there were approximately 2,863 possible active 9 participants that could use a day reporting center for several items, such as Urine Analysis 10 (UAs), Preliminary Breath Tests (PBTs), and Deoxyribonucleic Acid(DNA) collection for the 11 Courts and Probation and Parole in addition to fingerprinting capabilities for the public; and 12 13 WHEREAS, COMPAS assessments could also be completed at a day reporting center; 14 and 15 16 WHEREAS, many pretrial defendants on bond are not regularly monitored to see if they 17 are compliant with their bond conditions and a day reporting center would allow for follow-up 18 with defendants on bond; and 19 20 WHEREAS, the Sheriffs Office is recommending that a day reporting center be open 21 Monday through Saturday with various hours of operation and staffing levels; and 22 23 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Day Reporting Center Business Plan of August 2015 24 has been presented to the Public Protection and Judiciary Committee and the Community Justice 25 Collaborating Council (CJCC); and 26 27 WHEREAS, the recommendation for the day reporting center would require 28 modifications to the Huber area of the St. Croix County Jail; and 29 30 WHEREAS, the Public Protection and Judiciary Committee is in support of 31 implementation of the business plan and the associated costs of a day reporting center. 32 33 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors supports the 34 implementation of the business plan for the day reporting center and supports the funding for the 35 day reporting center.
