HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2016 (14) Resolution No. 14 (2016) ST RO .,, RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR ' ' ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEARS 2017 -2020 1 WHEREAS,pursuant to Wis. Stat. §59.22 (1), the County Board must establish the total 2 annual compensation for services to be paid to county elected officials (other than supervisors 3 and circuit judges)prior to the earliest time for filing nomination papers for the county elective 4 office; and 5 6 WHEREAS, the County Board desires to establish the total annual compensation for 7 county elected officials, which is separate and distinct from the fringe benefits offered by the 8 County to elected officials, and which fringe benefits are subject to increase or decrease during 9 the elected official's term at the discretion of the County Board and in accordance with state and 10 federal law; and 11 12 WHEREAS, as part of the County's fringe benefit program, county elected officials may 13 participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System in accordance with state law; and 14 15 WHEREAS, as part of the County's fringe benefit program, county elected officials may 16 elect to receive health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as the health 17 insurance coverage offered to non-represented managerial county employees; and 18 19 WHEREAS, the Administration Committee recommends that the total annual 20 compensation of the County Clerk, Register of Deeds and Treasurer whose term extends through 21 2020 be established as follows: 22 23 Position 2017 2018 2019 2020 24 County Clerk $69,749 $71,144 $72,567 $74,018 25 Register of Deeds $69,749 $71,144 $72,567 $74,018 26 Treasurer $69,749 $71,144 $72,567 $74,018 27 28 THEREFORE be it resolved by the St Croix County Board of Supervisors, that the total 29 annual compensation for the county elected officials under Wis. Stat. §59.22 (1) shall be as 30 recommended by the Administration Committee, effective on the first day of a term of office that 31 begins after the date of this Resolution. 32 33 FURTHER be it resolved by the St Croix County Board of Supervisors that the 34 aforementioned county elected officials may participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System in 35 accordance Chapter 40 of the Wisconsin Statutes. 36 37 FURTHER be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the 38 aforementioned county officials are entitled to participate in the County health insurance 39 program subject to the terms and conditions of the program, which may be modified from time to 40 time, under the same terms and conditions as the health insurance coverage offered to non- 41 represented managerial employees.
