ST RO .,, RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ST. CROIX COUNTY
' �' CLERK OF CIRCUIT COURTS TO CONTRACT WITH THE
WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE FOR UNPAID
DEBT COLLECTION
1 WHEREAS, Wisconsin State Statute §59.52(28) allows for the recovery of debt by the
2 use of a debt collector or to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue
3 under Wis. Stats. §71.93(8). This resolution authorizes the St. Croix County Clerk of Circuit
4 Court to contract with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for the collection of unpaid debt;
5 and

7 WHEREAS, the members of the Public Protection and Judiciary Committee recommend
8 adoption of this resolution.

10 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors does
11 authorize the use of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue to recover unpaid debt as allowed by
12 Wis. Stats. §59.52(28).

14 FURTHER be it resolved that the St. Croix County Clerk be directed to forward a copy
15 of this resolution to the St. Croix County Clerk of Circuit Courts.

Fiscal Impact: With the approval of this resolution the Clerk of Court will be able to increase
revenue to St. Croix County through the collection of unpaid debt.
