It i5 not possible to place the mound on available undisturbed soil due to the minimum setback requirement to a navigable water body. One sample soil profile in a backhoe pit (located on the CST site map) was observed in the disturbed area. This compacted condition, unaltered, poses a significant risk for eventual mound toe seepage. This risk can be mitigated by the following actions: • Deep chisel-plow to the depth of compaction across the extent of the entire proposed mound site when the compacted horizons are dry- (moisture content at near "permanent .vilt point"). • Seed the plowed area with a deep-rooted lcoume (alfalfa, clover. vetch) and rye grass mixture and allow to grow for at least one growing season. It will be the responsibility of the CST identilied in this report to ensure that these actions are performed as prescribed in an effective manner. A follow-up check of the site should be performed by the DSPS District NVastewater Specialist prior to installing a mound on the recovered site.
