ST R Q��,,w �� � UNTY RESOLUTION SUPPORTING IMPROVED BROADBAND
P4°."�a�°. �„ AVAILABILITY,ACCESS AND UTILIZATION IN ST. CROIX
COUNTY
1 WHEREAS, improved broadband access is necessary to St. Croix County businesses and
2 citizens in the areas of economic development, education, employment, communication, medical
3 care, entertainment, and other future uses; and
4
5 WHEREAS, significant portions of St. Croix County experience inadequate access to and
6 availability of broadband services; and
7
8 WHEREAS, St. Croix County desires to act as a catalyst for improvement in the
9 provision and use of broadband services, and
10
11 WHEREAS, the cooperation among county, town, and city government with providers
12 will be necessary for success.

14 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board hereby reaffirms the
15 County Strategic Goal to "strengthen County-wide technology infrastructure and service
16 offerings" and establishes as a goal that St. Croix County will be home to the best broadband
17 opportunities of any rural county in Wisconsin as measured by speed, adoption rate of its
18 citizens, and data capacity.

20 FURTHER be it resolved,that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors designates the
21 Community Development Committee act as the conduit between the County Board and the St.
22 Croix Economic Development Corporation for matters related to broadband improvement in St.
23 Croix County.
