ST. 0 �T'`�`' RESOLUTION FOR ADDITIONAL STEP INCREASE FOR
"�`� ' FIELD SERVICES LIEUTENANTS

1 WHEREAS, in January 2016 the St. Croix County Board implemented the McGrath
2 Uniform Compensation Grid for all non-represented employees; and
3
4 WHEREAS, the two Sheriffs Office Field Service Lieutenants were placed on the grid
5 at grade 69, step 4 which places their compensation at $35.23 per hour; and
6
7 WHEREAS, the 2016-2018 Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA)union
8 contract was ratified on February 17, 2016 after implementation of the McGrath Uniform
9 Compensation Grid; and
10
11 WHEREAS, Exhibit A of the 2016-2018 WPPA Union Contract has experienced
12 Primary Service Deputies paid at $31.12 per hour and Sergeants with an additional two dollars
13 per hour at $33.12, creating compression with the Lieutenant positions; and

15 WHEREAS, Dr. McGrath has reviewed the union contract compression with the Field
16 Service Lieutenants positions and recommended an additional step increase.

18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the St. Croix County Board of
19 Supervisors does hereby approve one additional step increase in addition to the normal annual
20 step increase, effective January 1, 2017 for the two Field Service Lieutenants placing them at a
21 pre-COLA adjusted rate of$37.01 per hour.

Legal Note:
Fiscal Impact: $3,744 additional wage cost, $720.72 in additional benefit cost for a total
$4,464.72 to add to the 2017 budget. No 2016 budget impact.
