HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2016 (54) Resolution No. 54 (2016) ST ROUK,,, RESOLUTION APPROVING ALTERATION OF SUPERVISORY ' ' DISTRICT BOUNDARY-VILLAGE OF SOMERSET 1 WHEREAS,in 2011 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a 10-year supervisory 2 district plan creating county supervisory districts,municipal aldermanic districts and election wards 3 following the 2010 Census; and 4 5 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.10(3)(c) allows a county board,in its discretion, to alter the 6 boundaries of supervisory districts based on annexations which occur after the adoption of the 10-year 7 supervisory district plan, as long as the number of supervisory districts is not changed; and 8 9 WHEREAS, the Village of Somerset completed an annexation in May 2016 of a parcel described 10 on Exhibit B of the attached(6.67 acres). 11 12 WHEREAS, a map of the annexed parcel, along with a copy of the annexation ordinance has 13 been filed with the St. Croix County Clerk and are attached; and 14 15 WHEREAS, the parcel annexed by the Village of Somerset is part of County Supervisor District 16 2, consisting of Ward 3,in the Town of Somerset; and 17 18 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into County Supervisor District 1 in 19 Ward 4,Village of Somerset; and 20 21 WHEREAS, the population of the annexed parcel is zero; and 22 23 WHEREAS, this resolution does not change the number of supervisory districts. 24 25 THEREFORE be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the supervisory 26 district boundaries are hereby altered by moving the annexed parcel of land from County Supervisor 27 District 2 to County Supervisor District 1 consisting of Ward 4 in the Village of Somerset as shown on 28 the attached; 29 30 FURTHER be it resolved that the St. Croix County Clerk is hereby directed to forward all notices 31 required under Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 59, to the Secretary of State for the purpose of advising that 32 office of said supervisory district boundary changes. 33 Legal—Fiscal—Administrative Approvals: Legal Note: None Fiscal Impact: None JA W-1 Cox,Corpvrat o ouunseil I01 12116 hart M' Fiace ixector "'1""0 I r16 Pa ck Tho�psnq Conniy Admini1011=016 10/19/16 Administration Committee APPROVED ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... ......... .......... TERRITORY ANNEXED. If any provision of this ordinance is invalid or unconstitutional, or if the application of this ordinance to any person or circumstances is invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid or unconstitutional provisions or application.
