, ��, UNTY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FOR ANY

PUBLIC GOVERNMENT PURPOSE NOT TO EXCEED
$10,000.00
1 WHEREAS, St. Croix County receives donations and gifts from various individuals
2 and/or entities throughout the year to support consumers and/or programs within the county; and
3
4 WHEREAS, in order to accept donations and gifts in the past a separate resolution has
5 been adopted for each donation and/or gift; and
6
7 WHEREAS, currently St. Croix County does not have a policy governing acceptance of
8 donations received by the county; and
9
10 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute § 59.52(19) allows the County Board to accept
11 donations, gifts, and/or grants for any public government purpose within the powers of the
12 county; and
13
14 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute § 59.02 indicates that the powers of a county as a body
15 corporate can only be exercised by the board, or in pursuance of a resolution adopted or
16 ordinance enacted by the board; and
17
18 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors wishes to delegate the authority
19 to accept donations, and/or gifts to the County Administrator or his/her designee not to exceed
20 $10,000.00 per donation and/or gift; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the members of the Administration Committee recommend adoption of this
23 resolution.

25 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors does
26 authorize the County Administrator or his/her designee to accept donations, and/or gifts to the
27 county for any public government purpose not to exceed $10,000.00 per donation and/or gift.
