The owner of this mound system shall be responsible for its perpetual operation and maintenance pursuant to
requirements of SPS 382-384, Wisc. Admin. Code. Pursuant to SPS 3£33.52 (2). Wisc. Admin. Code, this syslern shall be
considered a human health haiard if not maintained in accordance vo(h this approved management plan. Furthermore,
all inspection and maintenance activities shall be performed by a registered POWTS Maintainer in accordance with SPS
38152 (3), Wisc Admin_ Code.

Maintenance Checklist MAINTAIN EVERY 3 YEARS (or when necessary)
Septic and dose tank(s) shall be pumped by a certified septage servicing operator licensed under s. 281,48 Wis.
Slats. when the volume of solids in the tank(s) exceeds one-third (113) the liquid volume of the tank(s) or
as required by local ordinance. Disposal of contents shall be pursuant to NR 113, Wisc. Admin- Code
Effluent filter(s) shall be inspected every 3 years and shall be cleaned when necessary to remove any
accumulated solids according to manufacturer's specifications. A servicing period will always be greater than 12
months
Distribution laterals shall be flusher: once every 3 years or when necessary.
System maintenance reports shall be submitted to the proper local government unit in accordance with
SPS 383.55 Wisc. Admin. Code. Report any component failure or malfunction to:

Contingency Plan
In the event that any failed treatment component of this POWTS rannol be repaired, it shall be replaced pursuant to
a plan suomitted to the appropriate agency for review and approval. A failed mound dispersal component may be
re-constructed within the originally approved area after removal of all failed components.
System Abandonment
If use of this POWTS is discontinued. it shall be abandoned in accordance with SPS 383.33. Wisc. Admin. Code.

How to Clean Your Effluent Filter
To ensure your effluent filter is functioning properly, it shoved be inspected every year. Under normal conditions, your
effluent filter win function for several years before cleaning is necessary. The filter should be cleaned when 't becomes
clogged enough to restrict normal flows out of the septic tank. At a rr aimum, the filter should be cleaned whenever the tank
is pumped.
Most people prefer to have a septic tart service provider take care of filter maintenance and cleaning. You can find a
septic tank service provider it the Yellow Pages, under 'Septic Tarks & Systems.' Or you can contact your county health
department for a list.
If you wish to inspect andror clear your effluent fAer yourself, be sure to dress properly. Wear full length pants and shirt,
shoes, gloves, and gcggles or glasses. Then fo!'ow these irstruclions.
1. Remove the access lid to your septic tank by unscrew- _
ing the stainless steel lid bolts with hex head wrench
provided. If your lid is above ground, it will be easy to
find. If it is buried below ground, find the marker that
indicates its location.
2. Remove the fitter cartridge by grasping the tee handle
and lifting it out of its housing (see phuto 1).

3. Spray the cartridge tubes with a hose to remove any
material sticking to them (see photo 1). Ensure the three
orifices in the optional flow modulation plate inside the
filter are clear of any debris. Make sure the rinse water x a

4. Firmly place the cartridge back into the housing.
5. Some effluent filters come with an alarm that activates
when the filter needs cleaning. If you have an alarm,

6. Record the date that you inspected and/or cleaned
your filter on the form that follows. If you checked are
alarm or made any other observations about the tank
or system, include that information under'Notes.
7. Attach access lid by placing it on Uie riser, matching
the openings in the lid with the bolt catches. Insert lid

Off Biotube" Effluent Filter
How to Clean Your Effluent Filter
To ensure your effluent filter is functioning properly, it should be inspected every year Under normal condill your
effluent filter will function for severs years before cleaning is necessary. The liter shoo d be cleared when it becomes
clogged enough to restrict normal flows out of the septic tank. At a re`.nimum, the filter should be cleaned whenever the tack
s pumped.
Most people prefer to have a septic tank service provider take care of filter maintenance and cleaning. You can find a
septic lank service provider in the Yellow Pages, under 'Septic Tanks & Systems.' Or you can contact your county health
department for a list.
If you wish to inspect and/or clean your effluent filter yourself, be sure to dress properly Wear full-length pants and shirt,
shoes, gloves, and goggles or glasses. Then follow these instructions:
1. Remove the access lid to your septic tank by unscrluv,
ing the stainless steel lid bolts with hex head wrens, r
provided. If your lid is above cround, it will be easy rr -
find. If it is buried below ground, find the marker t r, r' / ,
indicates its location. ~
2. Remove the filter cartridge by grasping the tee hanrilr :
and lifting it out of its housing (see photo 1).
1 Spray the cartridge tubes with a hose to remove an
material sticking to them (see photo 2). Ensure the t--ee °
orifices in the optional flow modulation plate inside the
filter are clear of any debris. Make sure the rinse water Phofe I RH,
runs back into the tank, but do riot allow solids material
to fall into the open filter housing.
4. Firmly place the cartridge back into the housing.
5. Some effluent filters come with an alarm that activates
when the filter needs cleaning. If you have an alarm,
check to make sure it is working by lifting the float
with a stick. An audible horn should sound. The alarm t,.
panel is normally mounted on the side o't.e house or A
in the garage.
Note: If your effluent fiter doesn't have an a!arm system
and you wou d like one, call yocr local septic system
installer. -

6. Record the date that you inspected and/or cleaned
your filter on the form that follows. If you checked the
alarm or made any other observations about the tank
or system, include that information under 'Notes.'
7. Attach access lid by placing it on the riser, matching
the openings in the lid with the belt catches. Insert lid
