HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1975 (049) k or RESOLUTIONS TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN WHEREAS, under Section 7 of 1975 Assembly Joint Resolution II judges will be elected from the district and not the counties wherein they reside, and, WHEREAS under 1975 Assembly Joint Resolution II almost all counties under 40,000 no longer will have a resident judge, and, , WHEREAS no county can operate without a resident judge when the law -requires a hearing before a judge in such matters as juvenile detention (hearing must be held within 24 hours after juvenile detained), mental commitments (hearing must be held within 48 hours after person is taken into and custody) /preliminary hearings (hearing must be held within 10 days if accused is unable to make bail). St. Croix THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the County Board hereby announces its opposition to the passage of 1975 Assembly Joint Resolution II. Dated this th day of 1975.
