RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING CHANGE IN SECTION 74.19 OF WISCONSIN t'
STATUTES TO ALLOW COUNTIES TO DETERMINE PAYMENT TO BE MADE
TO LOCAL TREASURERS FOR SETTLEMENT WITH COUNTY TREASURER
WHEREAS, Section 74.19 of Wisconsin Statutes peeroviideess for a payment
th
to local town, village and city treasurer of $8.00/pp--d seven cents (.07)
for each mile traveled at the time of settlement with the County Treasurer;
and
WHEREAS, these amounts are both discriminatory and unfair in the
light of the payments made to others by counties for similar services,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors that the Board recommend to the State Legislature a change
in the Statutes whereby only the minimum amount that must be paid be f'
defined and that the counties be allowed to pay any amount in excess of
c that minimum consistent with the rates for per diem and mileage paid
for other like County service, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded
to the State Legislators representing this County, to all other County
Board Chairren and to the County Boards Association.
