TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF 33USM AND UREAN DX9E1081E.NT REGARDING FUNDING TO SKA L
COUNTIES WITHIN STANDARD METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREAS.
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 provides that 80%
of Community Development Funds.be used in Metropolitan Areas; and
WHERF,AS, St. Croix County has recently been designated as part of the Minne-
apolie-St. Paul Standard Metropolitan. Statistical Area; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County as a resslt of its designation as part of the Stand-
ard Metropolitan Statistical Area in eligible for funds under the Metropolitan
portion of the Housing and Community Development Act; and
WHEREAS, several communities in St. Croix County applied for funding under
this act; and
WHEREAS, critical community development needs were identified from oommun-
ities in St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS, needs in theme oom>aalties will become more critical as time goes on;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
in regular session that the Board go on record aging the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development and Congressional leaders to oonsider the needs of
oommulities in St. Croix Ccunty# and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution De forwarded to the
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Banning and Urban Development, the Area
Director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Congression-
al leaders from western Wisconsin.
That this resolution shall become effective upon adoption and passage.
