Whereas the Bicentennial is an opportunity to examine the founding
principles of our Nation, evaluate how well we have lived by them in
two hundred years of growth, determine what we can do to make the third
century better and then undertake Bicentennial activities that will make
lasting contributions to our nation, and
Whereas the National American Revolutionary Bicentennial Committee
has developed three themes, namely Heritage '76, Festival U.S.A. and
Horizons '76, and
Whereas St. Croix County has been officially recognized as a Bicentennial
Community, and
Whereas several projects have been initiated by St. Croix County to
celebrate the Nation's Bicentennial,
Let it therefore be resolved that St. Croix County include in the
1976 budget under the title St. Croix County Bicentennial Project the
sum of $3,000 to be used for the county celebration of our Nation's
200th birthday.
