WHEREAS, St. Croix County has no central communications system for central
dispatching of emergency and routine police, fire, and emergency medical and
disaster services, and
WHEREAS, a delay in locating emergency services may result in a serious
danger to public health, safety and welfare of St. Croix County citizens, and
WHEREAS, there is often a delay in locating proper emergency service resources
because of the nature of existing commercial communications facilities, and
WHEREAS, to assist St. Croix County and private public service units that
would be a part of this system in defraying the cost of providing such emergency
services may be available from Federal, State and private foundation sources, and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County presently possesses radio equipment, buildings ands
other resources which would be compatible and form an essential portion of the
requirements of such a system,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors in
regular session that St. Croix County establish a "Public Protection Committee"
to study a central emergency communication system for St. Croix County, including
a single telephone number emergency service6'r all residents of St. Croix County,

and to make recommendations to the St. Croix County Board for institution and
implementation of a central emergency dispatch service.
Members of this Committee will be appointed by the Chairman of the County Board
and have approval of County Board. The Public Protection Committee shall consist
of 4 members of the County Board (1 member from Civil Defense Committee, 1 members
from Finance Committee, 1 member from Highway Committee, 1 member from Law Enforcement
Committee) 1 member representing mobile medicine ( ambulance & rescue service),
1 member Fire service, 1 member County Traffic Dep't., 1 member Sheriff's Dep't.,
1 member municipal law enforcement, 1 member hospital administration from St. Croix
County, lmember , from St. Croix County, representing Pierce-St. Croix Medical
Society and 1 member, from St. Croix County, representing West C ntral Health
P.
Planning Council.
