HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1975 (034) RESOLUTION # 3 7s) RESOLUTION OPPOSING 1975 SENATE BILL 288 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 288 (1975) provides an act to amend Section 59.20(8) Wisconsin Statutes relating to the distribution of fines, forfeitures and penalties under the Motor Vehicle Code, and. WHEREAS, said bill reduces the portion of State forfeitures, fines and penalties under the Motor Vehicle Code retained by the counties from 50 per cent to 10 per cent, and WHEREAS, said bill provides for the 40 per cent difference to be remit Jed to the State Treasurer for pay ant into the Highway Fund, and WHEREAS, the Counties in the State of Wisconsin receive substantial revenue as a result of their enforcement and administration of said Section 59.20(8) Wisconsin Statutes, and WHEREAS, said bill will result in substantial loss of -revenue to St. Croix County and other counties with no commensurate increase in financial assistance from the State. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors in regular session that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors go on record as opposing 1975 Senate Bill 288 and the Clerk of St. Croix County is authorized and directed to send a. copy of this resolution to 29th District Assemblyman Lao Mohn, and 10th District Senator Robert Knowles, and to other Counties in the State of Wisconsin in the West Central Planning Region.
