RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SEMMMT OF LAW SUIT
WHEREAS, St. Croix County is party defendant to the Circuit Court
law suit of Walter F. Sampson and Marilyn V. Sampson, Plaintiffs vs.
St. Croix Cou#ty, Sumner Bright, and Employers Mutual Liability Insurance
Company of Wisconsin, Defendants, and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County wishes to effectuate an orderly termination
of this law suit, and
WHEREAS, St, Croix County believes it is without liability in this
matter, and
WHEREAS, costs of litigation could be excessive and onerous to
St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS, a reasonable offer of settlement may terminate the liability
of St. Croix County on this action,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
in regular session that the District Attorney be authorized to make a final
settlement offer on behalf of St. Croix County in the amount of $250.00 in
'return for full and complete releasee of St. Croix County, and the sum of
$250.00 is accordingly appropriated from the general fund to be transferred
to the St. Croix County County Board Account for settlement in this matter.
Request consideration by the Finance Committee thisday of 1975.
