WHEREAS the presently adopted maximum number of days of Committee
work permitted for County Board members, and the maximum dollar limit presently
allowed for County Highway Committee is insufficient to permit the conducting
of the current level of operations of St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS the present number of members on the County Board requires
the same member to be a member of more than one committee in some instances,
THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED that the number of committee meetings for
which compensation and mileage may be paid a committee member in any one year
in accordance with Sec. 59.06(2).(b) of the Statutes is hereby increased to
seventy-five (75) days, with the exception of the County Board Chairman to
whom per diem payment is authorized for attendance of all committee meetings
for the number of meetings which he is required by law or by the rules of
the County Board to attend, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the maximum per diem which may be paid
to Highway Committee members for time necessarily spent in the performance
of Mrs duties shall not exceed $2,000 in addition to necessary expenses to
any member in any year.
