WHEREAS it is desirable that an equitable tax be maintained
for all property within St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS it is felt the new taxation law as applied to mobile
homes is inadequate to insure equal taxation of mobile homes and other
real estate in St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS all segments of our county should participate in
supporting public services on an equal basis, and mobile homes will
not pay their fair portion of the tax burden under the new tax law, and
WHEREAS the mobile home law provides for the depreciation of
mobile homes over a ten (10) year period to 30%of new value, there being
no similar depreciation allowed on other real property,
BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby resolved that St. Croix
County does hereby resolved that St. Croix County does hereby request
a review of the mobile home taxation law to insure a more equitable
method of taxing mobile homes.
