TO THE DOOR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
WHEREAS, Chapter 499, Laws of 1969, amends Section 59.12 of the
Wisconsin Statutes to read that, "In lieu of electing a surveyor in any
county, the county board may, by resolution, designate that the duties
under ss. 59.06 and 59.635 be performed by any registered land surveyor
employed by the county.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 59.12 of
the Wisconsin Statutes, as amended, the County Board of Supervisors of
Door County resolve that in lieu of having the office of county surveyor
be an elective office, that the duties under ss. 59.06 and 59.635 of the
Wisconsin Statutes be performed by any registered land surveyor appointed
by or employed by the county, effective as of January 4, 1971 or as of
the expiration date of the current term of office for county surveyor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is the intent of the County Board
to abolish the elective office of county surveyor so that the office
of county surveyor be not included on the ballot for elective offices
in the 1970 fall election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that no salary be established or recognized
for the elective office of county surveyor for the 1970 fall election
in keeping with the County Board's intent to abolish the elective office
of county surveyor.
