WHEREAS, the development of a recreational area at Site
Ten of the Glen Hills Watershed project in the Town of Spring-
field, St. Croix County, has been progressing with plans being,
developed by State, Federal and County Agencies for a complete
recreational complex including such things as fishing, boating,
swimming, trail rides for horses, bicycle paths, camping and
trailer services, tennis courts, softball diamonds, horseshoe,
archery, skiing, sliding, snow.nobiling and other recreational,
activities adaptable to a summer and winter recreational oriented
area, and
WHEREAS, interested people in the community surrounding this
recreational site have organized a non-profit Golf Club, incor-
porated as the "Olen Hills Golf Club, Inc`.;' for the purpose of
developing a golf course on part of the lands owned by the
Department of Natural Resources and on which a dam entitled

Site Ten is located subject to the easement in favor of St.
Croix County for the aforesaid recreational purposes, and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid Glen Hills Golf Club, Inc., has
( negotiated and obtained a leasehold on approximately 120 acres
of the lands owned by the State from the Department of Natural
Resources and St. Croix County Soil and Water Conservation
District, and
WHEREAS, this Board deems this recreational area withits
diverse recreational possibilities to be a tremendous recreational
asset to the County, community and entire area, and
WHEREAS, it further deems the development of a golf course
in conjunction- with the other recreational activities to be a
valuable addition to the total recreational possibilities and
an asset to the County, and to the State, and
WHEREAS, it has been given firm assurance that the members
of the Olen Hills Golf Club, Inc. will operate such golf course
to the benefit of all people without regards to race, creed and
color and will develop it to the benefit of the County and the
total area.
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved and it is hereby resolved
that this. Board give its unqualified and full-hearted support
to the members of the Glen Hills Golf Club, Inc. , without
reservation, and encourage them to pursue all possible means to
obtain financing and to develop such Course through such govern-
mental agencies as the Farmers Home Administration; and it is
further ordered that the Clerk of the County send a copy of this
Resolution to the office of the Farmers Home Administration at
Baldwin, Wisconsin, Assemblyman, Robert Boche, State Senator,
Robert Knowles, Congressman, Alvin O'Konski, U.S. Senators,
Proxamire and Nelson.
