WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has not at this time passed.
a renewal of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964', and —
WHEREAS, St. Croix County needs additional work opportunities for youth
in year around employment to keep then in school, and
WHEREAS, St..Croix' County's.job opportunities for welfare recipients`
are limited and new employment opportunities areneeded, and 0
WHEREAS, there is a lack of money available for senior citizen program
support, housing assistance.for low income families and senior citizens; rural
economic development and other community.action functions, and
WHEREAS, there are:presently various bills in both h3uses of congress
that include means to work upon the above mentioned needs;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY.RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors of St. Croix County, Wisconsin, does hereby request, through:our
elected representatives and senators and through the president of the United
States, that actions be pressed immediately to pass and make into law this
extension of Economic Opportunity.Act of 1964.
