RESOLUTION NO. 7 WHEREAS, The State of Wisconsin has recently enacted a new law chang- ing the age of majority from age twenty-one (21) to age eighteen (18) in the State of Wisconsin; and, whereas, municipalities within St. Croix County, and St. Croix County $self have encountered numerous complications; AND, WHEREAS, a large percentage of the complications have involved non resident adults, and many of the complications are due to the large number of non resident adults from the neighboring state of Minnesota; and, whereas, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors has examined the problem, and considered and attempted to arrive at solutions for the problem, and determined possible courses of action in the future; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board respect- fully requests the Wisconsin State Legislature to alleviate the above problem by enacting legislation to provide that the new age of majority at eighteen (18) shall pertain to Wisconsin residents only. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board authorizes copies of this resolution be sent to State Senator Robert Knowles, Assemblyman Leo Mohn, Governor Patrick J. Lucey, and the County Clerks of all Wisconsin Counties with a request that this resolution be referred to the County Boards with a request for similar action by the respective Boards urging the Legislature to alleviate the above problem.
