RESOLUTION ENDORSING GENERAL RL'VENUE SHARING BILL
WHLRIAS, the House of Represntatives will presently vote on H.R. 1 :370
Bill entitled "The State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972" and
WHLHEAS, the House version of said revenue sharing bill would allocate
up to 27.; billion dollars among the nation's states, counties and cities
over the next five years, including $137,000,000 annually to the State of
Wisconsin, and
WHEREAS, this County Board has previously endorsed the Federal Revenue
Sharing Program by Resclution No. 863 a'.opted on March 16, 1971, and
WHEREAS, to support and endorse said bill would strengthen the
financial future of county government and would alloti%, the implementation
of county programs without excessive bureaucratic red tape,
NOd, TH RIEFORE, BE IT RESOIVED by the County Board of Supervisors of
St. Croix County, Wisconsin that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
go on record as supporting H.R. 11370 entitled "State and Local Fiscal
Assistance Act of 1972", and
BE IT FURTH-- PX,,SCLVED, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to
President Nixon, Senators Prcx ire and Nelson, Congressman Steiger, and
the state's other Congressmen, Represontatives and. Senators, Governor Lucey,
all local units of government in St. Croix County, the Wisconsin County
Boards Association and other counties in the State, as well as the
National Association of Counties.
