HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1973 (58) 7 � R E S O L U T I ON J BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,,that the oli County Board hereby goes on record in',declaring its intentions to promulgate a' an Affirmative Action Program in conform#y with Federal and State law and regulations as soon as reasonably possible, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in pursuance thereof, the responsibility and authority for the development said implementation of such Affirmative Action Program shall be assigned to a person to be known as the Affirmative Aetiaa Officer to be designated by the County Board and Personnel Committee and confirmed by the County Board. Such officer shall have a background which . is demonstrates commitment to affirmative action. The Affirmative'Action Officer shall h8ve:, full access to all departmental records, policies and procedures, rules and regulations, including, personnel files, documents, background investigation reports and other informational documents relating to the employment, training, promotion, transfer, termination or discipline of personnel in the County, of St. Croix. All such information so obtained shall be confidential and shall not be divulged except upon authorization by the County Board. The Affirmative Action Officer shall submit reports, at least quarterly each year, to the County Board on the progress of such Affirmative Action Program. The Affirmative Action Officer shall be directly responsible to the County Board. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that an Affirmative Action Committee beppoir;ted by'the County Board. ', Such Affirmative Action Committee shall ponsisp of'tive members as follows: Two women, one rgember from an ethnit,;ainority, one member from labor, and one member from the County Board, all of whom shall be committed to the extension of.employment opportunities for women and ethnic WAoritles. The members may be County employees or citizen members. The iuitipl coma►ittee members shall be appointed on the following basis: One member shawl be appointed to a liar term, two members shall be appointed to 2-year teams, and two;membera shall beL appointed to 3-Year tends. Thereof ter, all appointments ahal41 be for 3 years. No individual shall serve on the Affirmative Action Committee more 'than 6;con- tinuous years. The Committee shall elect its own chairman by majority, vote r of all the committee members and shall meet at least quarterly or on call.'of the chairman or by two members. The Committee shall encourage women and minority group members to bring forth their grievances and shall advise and support them in carrying their grievances - through the proper channels. BE IT FURTHERRESOLVED that the amount of $700.00 be and is hereby appropriated from the contingency account for usual and necessary expenses' incurred in co.rnectiou with the implementation and operation of the Affirmative Action Program.
