FUNDS FOR RENAL (KIDNEY) DISEASE
'rJHFRFAS, the high cost of treatment for Renal (Kidney) Disease has
reduced families to poverty,.and
VrHFRFAS, Federal and State funds might be available to avoid the
unfortunate situation of reducing families to poverty,
THF:?FFORE BE IT R^SOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
that St. Croix County favors and endorses legislation which will provide
financial assistance to persons requiring long term artificial kidney
treatment and / or kidney transplants so that the costs of said treatment
and tranplants will not reduce the persons and their families to poverty.
BE IT FURTHER k,.SOLVFD, that the St. Croix County Clerk is directed
to send a copy of this Resolution to Dr. Arvin Weinstein at the University
Hospitals in Madison, Wisconsin; to Senators Gaylord Nelson and William
Proxmire; to Representative Vernon Thompson; to Assemblyman Leo Mohn and
Senator Robert P. Knowles representing St. Croix County in the State
Legislature; to the Executive Director of the Wisconsin County Board's
Association; to the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health and
Social Services and to the Clerks of all other counties in Wisconsin.
