WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has not at this time passed
a renewal of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County needs additional work opportunities for youth
in year around employment to keep them in school, and
WHEREAS, St. .Croix County's job opportunitiesforwelfarerecipients
are limited and new employment opportunities are needed, and
WHEREAS, there is a lack of money available for senior citizen program
support, housing assistance for low income families and senior citizens,' rural
economic development and other communityaction functions, and
WHEREAS, there are presently various bills in both Muses of congress
that include means•to work upon the above mentioned.needs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors of St. Croix County,Wisconsin, does hereby request, through our
elected representatives and senators and through the.president of the United
States, that actions bepressed immediately to pass and make into.law this
extension of Economic Opportunity.Act.of 1964.
