Present: Art Jensen, Chris Bethke. Lois Burri, Leon Berenschot,Ronald Raymond, Mary Barney, and James
Janke.
Absent: Lee Milligan, Diana Alfuth, Marc- Lestrud, Kim Reaman,and Dave Fodroczi
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Chris Bethke at 12:30 p.m.
Date of next meeting was set for Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at 12:30 p.m.
Lois Bum moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Leon Berenschot seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Berenschot moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved. Art Jensen seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Berenschot moved that the vouchers be approved. Bum seconded the motion. Motion carred.
RESOURCE AGENT'S REPORT
Janke reported that he has arranged three dates this autumn for drinking water testing through the
Environmental Task Force laboratory at UW-Stevens Point. The town boards of Somerset and Hudson have
endorsed doing programs in their towns. Janke is scheduled to meet with the Warren Town Board on
June 12.
Janke said that he has received a computer file containing roads and streets in St. Croix County along with the
associated house numbering system. There are some errors,which he is correcting. When done the file
can be used by ArcView GIS software to map the drinking water test data and any other data that has an
address.
Five people participated in the small business management counseling on May 31. The next session is -
scheduled on June 27.
State Senator Alice Clausing held a workshop on the new Smart Growth legislation in New Richmond on May
25. Janke and Dave Fodroczi plan to organize another Smart Growth workshop this fall specifically for St.
Croix County local officials.
The Extension Land Use Specialist position has been approved at UW-River Falls. Janke has worked closely
with the chairman of the Search and Screen Committee to secure approval for the position,develop the job
description, and advertise the position.
Janke has been asked to assist a group of employers in the Hudson area to explore the possibility of conducting
a child care needs survey.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT'S REPORT
Barney reviewed a list of May vouchers totaling $9,547.08. Berenschot moved that the vouchers be approved as
presented. Raymond seconded the motion. Motion carried.
