Mary Lou Smith, Dr. Glenn Hoberg, and Florence Patrick were excused. Also present were Sandy Gehrmann, Jonna Fedie, Barb Blaisdell, Pat Otto, Betty Jordahl, Shirley Marlette, Lorraine Jacobs, Viola Dull, Donna Lamson, Gladys Ellefson, and Cindy Ahrens. Introductions were made. ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Marguerite Sumner and seconded by John Mortensen to adopt the agenda as printed; motion carried. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 8:30 a.m. at the Government Center. ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: A motion was made by Ralph Bader and seconded by Margaret Wolske to approve the minutes as printed; motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Budget Update: The Department on Aging may have a short fall of $10,000 - $11 ,000 for the year 2000 because of the salary increases. A motion was made by Ralph Bader and seconded by Margaret Wolske to approach the Finance Sue Lindberg, Public Health Nurse, will do blood sugar screenings at the sites again this year. The Department will set up a schedule with Sue and distribute the information to the sites. The Elder Abuse Report and the S.85.21 Statistics for Wisconsin Counties were distributed and discussed. The Shared Ride Taxi Contract for 2001 will be $2,600.00. SITE/CENTER REPORTS: DEER PARK: Cards are going well. A train trip is being planned for the end of September. Participants are looking forward the Arthur Godfrey trip on October 5'''. A popcorn fundraiser is being scheduled. GLENWOOD CITY: A Soup and Salad Luncheon will be held on September 15'''. Martha Mabis did a presentation and the site is receiving fresh flowers for their tables. BALDWIN: Participants are planning a van trip to Hudson and a leaf trip. Cards are going well. Martha Mabis will do a presentation in October. HAMMOND/ROBERTS: The Dining Site has been open for three days and things are going very well with 68 participants so far. HUDSON: The Center has scheduled a Health Forum on September 26'' and a picnic at Willow River State Park on October 6'. On September 11'', Christine Lassa, a personal trainer , from Your Personal Edge, gave massages. NEW RICHMOND: Deerfield will use the van on Tuesdays and Fridays. Footcare is going well. On October 6''', participants are planning a trip to Menomonie and on October 9''', the Somerset Kitchen Band will perform. SOMERSET: Martha Mabis did a presentation on August 8'''. Cindy will start interviewing participants on video. The Somerset Police Chief will do a discussion on September 19'''.
