Brantner, Director DATE: March 8, 2000 COPIES TO: COUNTY BOARD OFFICE COUNTY CLERK COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEWS MEDIA/NOTICE BOARD ** Tour to occur after adjournment of meeting UNOFFICIAL RECORD MINUTES EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE March 13, 2000 Present : Chuck Mehls, Nancy Bieraugel - County Board; Bruce Brantner - Emergency Communications; Jack Colvard - Emergency Government; Greg Carlson - WITC; Jim VanderWyst - New Richmond Fire Department; Troy Dankemeyer - Land Conservation. Excused: Ron Volkert - Sheriff' s Department; Gene Hanson - County Board; Dick Trende - Hudson Police Department . The meeting was called to order by Chuck Mehls at 9 : 05 a .m. The agenda was adopted on a Carlson/VanderWyst MOTION. The next meeting will be on April 10, 2000 at 9 : 00 a.m. . Minutes of the February 14, 1999 meeting were approved on a VanderWyst/Carlson MOTION. Unfinished Business : Communications Van Update; Brantner stated that the contract has been signed and that $5, 000 . 00 has been paid as a down payment. The detail layout, 3-D drawing of the van, will be coming in a week or so . Alternate 9-1-1 PSAP Location; The old console from the Hudson Police Department, the previous backup PSAP point, has been removed, and is currently being stored at the vendors garage until the new site, at the Health Center in New Richmond is completed. At this immediate time, there is no backup for the Communications Center except for the mobile command post. County I D s for Responders; Brantner informed the committee that the new cards for volunteers will have a green stripe . The cost for the new cards is $58 . 50/1000 . Blue will stay the same for staff personnel . Each department will be responsible for collecting the old pink stripe cards . Discussion about the C- Warn monitors currently distributed throughout the county as warning devices for public and private facilities, for storms or other emergency situations . A letter will be sent to each user to check their monitor and advise them about the severe weather season coming soon. Radio Frequency Usage; A list of frequencies was sent out to each emergency service . Also a list of the minimum frequencies that each agency should have was identified. DIRECTOR' S REPORT: Brantner attended a conference in Wisconsin Rapids, with Colvard, dealing with hazardous materials and thought it was excellent . He passed around the materials that he obtained at the conference. He also provided a map interpretation class for the River i Falls Ambulance Service personnel, to help them be more - familiar in locating various addresses as the are radioed to them from dispatch. He thought the class went very well and hopes to provide this to more of the county' s EMS services . BILLS AND VOUCHERS : The bills for February were approved on a Bieraugel/VanderWyst MOTION.
