FINANCE MINUTES
Special meeting May 16, 2000
Meeting called to order by Chair O'Connell at 6 : 30 p.m. Members
present: Tom O' Connell, Nancy Bieraugel, Stan Krueger, Tom
Dorsey and Ralph Swenson. Staff present: Administrative
Coordinator Chuck Whiting and County Clerk Sue Nelson.
Motion by Krueger, 2nd by Dorsey to adopt the agenda. Carried.
Next meeting is June 9 .
Community Block Grant Loan: Ann Raid, West Central Regional
Planning; St . Croix County Economic Development Director Bill
Rubin and Supervisors Margaret Wolske present . Committee noted
the wording in the Resolution had been corrected to read the WI
Dept . of Commerce has reviewed rather than Finance Committee.
Bieraugel asked how good a personal guarantee was from the owner
of the business applying for the loan. O'Connell said the Dept .
of Commerce would have to collect if the company fails .
O'Connell also noted the Village of Roberts does not wish to
sponsor the block grant loan, but rather have the County do it.
Dorsey asked about proof of insurance coverage for Emerald Dairy.
Ann Raid will provide a copy to the County.
Motion by Krueger, 2nd by Swenson to recommend approval of the
block grant loan to Poly-Cam, Inc. Carried. Bieraugel requested
periodic updates on the loan repayment, especially if there is a
problem.
Financial Reports: Loney had distributed the 1999 pre-closing
balances for General Fund Expense Accounts. The Perch Lake
report was placed on Supervisors' desks. Swenson requested
budget information for year 2000 at the June meeting.
Motion to adjourn by Bieraugel, 2nd by Krueger. Meeting adjourned
at 6 :55 p.m
