HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2017 (26) Resolution No. 26 (2017) � , ��, UNTY RESOLUTION SUPPORTING GRANT APPLICATION FOR SNOWMOBILE TRAIL AIDS FOR REHABILITATION PROJECTS 1 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County snowmobile trail system is extensive and of high quality 2 attracting large numbers of users; and 3 WHEREAS, the Wildwood Trail is included in the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan as a 4 snowmobile and bicycle/pedestrian trail; and 5 WHEREAS, St. Croix County Community Development Department maintains and rehabilitates 6 lands, including the Wildwood Trail, for public outdoor snowmobile trail use; and 7 WHEREAS, said public motorized trails are eligible for snowmobile recreational trail aid grants; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Wildwood Trail will reduce ongoing 10 maintenance and surfacing costs from extensive erosion related to intermittent stream runoff, 11 ditch failure and lack of culverts on the trail; and 12 WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has allocated $20,000 towards Wildwood 13 Trail improvements and is seeking 50% match or up to $20,000 grant funds; and 14 WHEREAS, the Community Development Department seeks authorization to submit an 15 application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for financial assistance under 16 the Snowmobile Recreational Trail Aids program. 17 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors authorizes the 18 Community Development Director to submit a Snowmobile Recreational Trail Aids grant 19 application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in an amount not to exceed 20 $20,000. 21 FURTHER, be it resolved, that the Community Development Department shall comply with all 22 grant laws and regulations and will meet its obligations under the terms of the grant.
