PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING
Date: April 6,2000 Location: Government Center,Hudson
The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. by Chairman Gerald
Peterson. Members present: Peterson, Julie Speer, Herb Giese, Art Jacobson, and Mary Louise
Olson. Also present: Debra Kathan and Steve Weld.
Moved(Olson, Speer) and approved to accept the agenda as presented. Date of the next
meeting was set for 9 a.m., April 12. Mediation sessions with AFSCME have been scheduled for -
April 19 and 20, starting at 9 a.m. each morning. Moved(Giese, Jacobson) and approved to
accept the minutes of the April 5 Committee meeting.
Motion(Speer, Olson)to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c and e for the
purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the AFSCME unions. Roll call vote: all aye;
moved into closed session at 9:07 a.m. Representing the AFSCME unions were Rich Monn,
Janet Smith, Diane Peterson, Diane Northrup, Charmaine Green, Martha Bydzovsky,Lisa
Weiske, Beth Adams, Michael Van Keuren, Rodney Kongshaug, and business agent Steve
Hartmann. Steve Weld served as legal counsel for the County.
Moved(Speer, Giese) and approved to come out of closed session at 12:33 p.m. Peterson
noted that negotiations would continue with the assistance of a mediator on April 19. Moved
(Olson, Giese) and approved to adjourn at 12:35 p.m.
