SUBMITTED BY: Debra Kathan Personnel Director DATE: March 30, 2000 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, Committee Members X PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Date: April 3,2000 Location: Government Center, Hudson The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at noon by Chairman Gerald Peterson. Members present: Peterson, Mary Louise Olson, Herb Giese, Julie Speer, and Art Jacobson. Also present: Debra Kathan, John Borup, Kristie Tellijohn, Carolyn Krieger, and Chuck Whiting. Moved(Jacobson, Olson) and approved to accept the agenda as presented. The date of the next meeting was set for 9 a.m. on April 6. Moved(Giese, Speer) and approved to accept the minutes of the March 17 Personnel Committee. Motion(Olson, Jacobson)to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c and e for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with AFSCME. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 12:04 p.m. Representing the Health Center union for negotiations were Beth Adams and Lisa Weiske. Moved (Giese, Olson) and approved to come out of closed session at 5:05 p.m. Peterson announced that the group had reached a tentative agreement with the nursing home representa- tives on issues affecting Appendix E. The Committee discussed requests from the elected officials for salary increases in 2001 and 2002. Moved (Speer, Olson) and approved to recommend setting the Elected Officials salaries as follows: Position 2001 2002 County Clerk $41,238 $43,225 County Treasurer $41,238 $43,225 Register of Deeds $41,238 $43,225 Clerk of Court $42,728 $44,760 Sheriff $64,626 $66,498 and further to charge the Elected Officials the same premium rates for life, health, and disability insurances as the non-represented employees. Peterson noted that their recommendation for the Elected Officials would go before the County Board on April 18. Peterson noted that the Committee did not have time to meet with representatives of the GGSS Union, so a new committee meeting was scheduled for 9 a.m., April 5.
