PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING
Date: March 1,2000 Location: Government Center,Hudson

The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 1:02 p.m. by Chairman Gerald
Peterson. Members present: Peterson, Mary Louise Olson, Julie Speer,Art Jacobson, Herb
Giese. Also present: Debra Kathan and Dennis Hillstead.
Peterson noted that the next Committee meeting was scheduled for 9 a.m. on March 22.
Moved (Giese, Speer) and approved to accept the agenda as presented. Minutes of the February
23 meeting were distributed. Moved (Giese, Speer) and approved to waive the standard county
rate for motel lodging for the WACPD conference in May and authorize the convention rate for
attendance by a Personnel Department representative.
Motion(Giese, Speer)to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c and e for
continuing negotiations with the LAW union. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session
at 1:10 p.m. Members present for the LAW union were Bob Widiker, Jeff Klatt, Dave Hake,
Chris Drost, and Bob Bradford. Moved(Jacobson, Giese) and approved to come out of closed
session at 8:10 p.m. Moved(Giese, Olson) and approved to accept the minutes of the February
23 committee meeting. Peterson noted that a tentative agreement had been reached with the
LAW representatives and the Personnel Committee would be recommending the 2000-2002
contract/package to the County Board at its March 21 meeting. Moved (Jacobson, Speer) and
approved to adjourn at 8:10 p.m.
