FAX 246-8225 CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order by chair Ray Mealey 246-8220 Information ROLL CALL: Eleven present and two excused. Other Departments 715/246-6991 ADOPT AGENDA: Motion by John Mortensen; second by Marguerite Sumner to TDD 246-8325 accept the agenda for today's meeting as submitted; carried. PREVIOUS MINUTES ACTION: Motion by Richard Peterson to accept the previous meeting minutes as written; second by Fern Johnson; carried. NEXT MEETING: Thursday, April 6, 2000 at 1:30pm. Human Services complex in New Richmond; 74 Board Room. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: CY2000 LTS Unit Budget - Ron Lockwood informed the committee that there were additional changes of an increase of $63,000 due to salary increases approved by the county board after the budget was completed NEW BUSINESS: Financial Report- (handout) Ron Lockwood explained that although it looks as if some programs were overspent, there are others that are underspent and these monies can be used to cover the match funds needed. Variance & Purchase Requests: Request from LTS Social Worker to assist a vent dependent quadriplegic with application to the state to receive a van using COP High Cost Funds. Ron Lockwood indicated to the committee that these funds are above and beyond any medicaid waiver funds and no county money is involved. Motion by Keith Gregerson to approve assistaning this client to pursue funds through COP High Cost; second by Robert Palewicz; carried. Aging Unit Report: none. Aurora Residential Alternatives Program Report: (handout) Dave Barnard presented an overview of what their agency provides, who they provide for, and statistics regarding staff. He also discussed what possibilities are for some future issues in relation to funding by the state for living situations. Medical Assistance Purchase Plan: (handout) This is a new program starting soon that will enable working persons with disabilities that fall within income criteria to purchase medical assistance services. This is new information and Ron Lockwood will keep the committee informed. Community Health Partnership Program: This is a program that integrates health and long term care programs for elderly persons and persons with physical disabilities. This is also very new information and Ron Lockwood will keep the committee informed. COP Update Plan for year 2000: Ron Lockwood presented the 2000 COP Plan to be submitted to the Bureau of Aging and Long Term Care Resources with estimates and objectives for the coming year. Ron Lockwood explained the plan; no major changes from previous year. Motion to approve the COP Update Plan for submission was made by Marguerite Sumner; second by Robert Palewicz; carried. ByLaw review: Ron Lockwood reminded the committee that this spring will be county board elections and with that comes possible re-appointments to and/or dismissals from this committee.
